House Of Bricks Pro Wrestling One Night Only April 18th 2014 Fairhaven, MA VFW Post 2892
On April 18th, 2014. House Of Bricks Pro Wrestling presented One Night Only in memory and in honor of Kyle Pendergast and to help the Pendergast family with the burden that comes with losing a loved one. It seems that chaos would be the theme for the night, right from the very beginning of the event. Prior to the first match, HoB Commissioner Johnny Fabulous along with HoB owner Brickhouse Baker and Tom Pendergast, the patriarch of the Pendergast family, held an extremely touching tribute to Kyle and a moment of silence and a ten bell salute to honor our fallen friend. After the tribute, "High Class" Rich Bass, felt that he needed to put his two cents in and started to attack Commissioner Fabulous verbally. Johnny Fabulous, after Bass said his piece, decided that Rich Bass would not be allowed to disrespect anyone else, ordered HoB security and officials to physically remove "High Class" Rich Bass from the building, and that they did. However, it would be not be the last time Bass was seen.
The opening contest saw "The Ladies Man" Gregory Edwards accompanied by Biff Busick took on "The Devil's Reject" Brandon Webb. After a very scary and almost costly mistake, Webb was able to trap Edwards in a small package and emerged victorious despite a possible injury.
The second match of the night was a Triple Threat match between "ColdBlooded" Jay Frost, "Moonshiner" JB Tickle, and "Simply The Best" Everett Briggs. At first it seem that Frost and Tickle would combine efforts and try to take out Briggs but the reality of only one wrestler becoming victorious emerged and because of excommunication, Everett Briggs was able to over come the odds and unleashed his new finisher, The Over-Docked a vicious top rope legdrop and pinned Jay Frost to become the victor. After the match it seemed that Tickle and Frost would not be able to move past mistakes and brawled all the way back to the locker room.
Match three was originally scheduled to be "Sweet" Scott Ashworth vs "The Goddess Of Beauty" Ramona Romano. At first the antics, to put it softly, of Ramona Romano had Ashworth more willing to wrestle HoB senior official Kevin Quinn, but after speaking to Brickhouse Baker, Ashworth entered the ring and took control of the match. As "Sweet" Scott was destined for victory, "The Clinic" Christopher James, ran out to stop the referee's count. After Romano and his new "associate" James started to double team Ashworth, "Big" Rick Fuller made his way out and said that if those two wanted to fight that we should have Commissioner Fabulous make it a tag team match. Johnny Fabulous was more than willing to oblige and after a set of chops that only Fuller can throw, James left Romano in the ring to receive a Chokeslam from Rick Fuller and the Sweet Seat from Scott Ashworth and both men celebrated their victory.
The fourth contest of the night was a double debut match as "Dynamite" Doug Summers took on "The Human Nightmare" Evan Siks. Both man traded blows back and forth, but the size difference between Siks and Summers became a factor and in the end, Siks delivered a reverse lariat to the back of Summers's head and neck to gain victory and leave an impression on everyone in the building.
Match five was originally scheduled to be "The Talent" TJ Richter versus "The Juice" JT Dunn but the fans in Fairhaven were informed by Richter that his opponent had a problem with handling bookings and that his since his opponent was not in the building, he would be bringing the TJ Richter Invitational Challenge and would allow one of the fans in attendance to step in the ring against him. After scanning the crowd, Richter set his sights on The Portuguese Stallion, who was just sitting in the crowd and enjoying the show with his family. After being insulted by TJ Richter, Stallion entered the squared circle and soundly defeated Richter and shut him up for the rest of the night.
After the fifth match, intermission took place. Near the end of intermission, Commissioner Fabulous came out from the locker room and demanded security and officials to accompany him. It seemed that even after being violently escorted out and ordered to leave in the beginning of the show, "High Class" Rich Bass had managed to gain access to the building and took a seat in the crowd. Johnny Fabulous ordered officials to once again remove Bass from the building again, but Bass produced a ticket that he purchased and allowed him entrance to the show. Fabulous ripped up his ticket and threw it in Bass's face to which Bass produced another ticket which was then destroyed again by Fabulous and "High Class" Rich Bass was once again forcibly removed by officials. As he was being escorted out, he vowed that he would get even with Johnny Fabulous by the end of the night.
After the dust had settled the show entered the second half of the event and it started with a tag team encounter between the team of Mack Attack, Monster Mack and Trainee #1 versus the team of Pretty Boy Hernandes and Anthony Stone. It showed that a team that has been together for years and have the experience with one another would prevail against a newly formed tag team as Mack Attack was victorious.
Prior to his match, House Of Bricks Heavyweight Champion, "The Thunder From Down Under" Michael Foster came out in street clothes and was accompanied by Kevin Castro. Foster grabbed the microphone and told everyone in attendance that due to an injury that had occurred in the off season of House Of Bricks, he would not be defending his championship and was leaving with his belt. This brought out Commissioner Fabulous who said that Foster, per the bylaws of House Of Bricks, was required to defend his championship at every scheduled title defense and since he was injured, he would immediately vacate the title. Foster and Castro were not pleased with the sudden change of plans but Castro it seemed had an ace up his sleeve. He convinced Johnny Fabulous to allow a substitution for Foster and allow that man to defend the championship in Foster's place. Commission Fabulous approved the substitute and Castro brought out "The International Male" Aaron Amadeus, which now made the match Aaron Amadeus versus number one contender "Superstar" Shawn Candido. Both man didn't even get a chance for the referee to signal the bell as both men brawled all over the arena. As Candido tried to suplex Amadeus into the ring from the apron, Michael Foster grabbed the legs of Shawn Candido which allowed Aaron Amadeus to cover Candido and earn a victory. However it seemed that since he had just won the match, Amadeus would not want to hand the belt back to Foster and proclaimed that he is now the brand new HoB Heavyweight Champion. Foster, in obvious disbelief, tried in vain to wrest away what he believed was his championship from Amadeus ended up losing the title and he was left lying in the middle of the ring courtesy of Shawn Candido.
The main event of the evening was a bout that should have been called "Brothers vs Brothers" as The Storm Brothers, "Mad Dog" Matt and "Kick Ass" Kyle took on The Baker Boys, David and Devin. Before the match even started, former manager and long time friend of the Storms, Kenny B. Dunne had received an urgent phone call from his close personal friend, "High Class" Rich Bass, and that he would be in the corner of The Storm Brothers. As both Bakers had the advantage over the Storms, Rich Bass once again showed up and distracted the referee and allowed Kenny B Dunne to pass his signature pool cue to help the Storms achieve victory. However, Commissioner Fabulous took matters into his own hands and restarted the match and as that was send the bell was rung and both Bakers rolled up the Storm Brothers and were victorious. After all was said and done Rich Bass was in the receiving end of an Attitude Adjustment from Fabulous and was carried to the locker room.
We were at House Of Bricks Pro Wrestling would like to thank a lot of people that helpers and make the fundraiser for The Kyle Pendergast Memorial Fund a success. First we would like to thank the VFW post 2892 of Fairhaven for allowing us the use of the building. We would also like to thank Whaling City Wrestling for the use of the ring and equipment.
